Following the latest Government announcement on Wednesday, 23rd December, we will continue to stay open to support all those guests who are permitted to travel for essential purposes. For the comfort of our guests, we will also be providing room service of both full English breakfast along with a hearty supper menu, all delivered safely to your bedroom door. Rest assured we have put into place all the Government’s COVID-19 Secure health and safety measures to ensure the well being of all our guests and staff.  We have also been awarded the Good to Go mark. We are continuously updating our risk assessments as the Government guidelines change.

8th USAAF in England Talk at the Maids Head Hotel

David Cain, Project Manager, 8th in the East is giving a talk called ‘Local stories, international histories, the 8th USAAF in England’ at the Maids Head Hotel on Friday 30 September at 2pm.

This free talk explores the social and landscape legacy of the 8th US Army Air Force and their time in England during WW2. Discover how our local landscape changed forever following friendly invasion, and hear true stories of local lives lived alongside ‘the Yanks’.

The talk coincides with the Eighth in the East exhibition, which is at the Maids Head Hotel until 6 October.
