Queen Elizabeth Suite

This iconic suite is named after Queen Elizabeth I, following her visit to the city in 1587 when she would have enjoyed hospitality at the Maids Head. The suite is located in the original part of the Hotel with solid exposed beams throughout the spacious lounge and bedroom. It has an original feature headboard and furniture from the 16th Century to emphasise the character of the room, along with intricately embroidered fabrics in rich colours to match. The wallpaper chosen for the bedroom reflects Queen Elizabeth’s love for the game of chess and the hand painted wall tiles in the bathroom have a warm red medieval pattern. With a roll top bath in the bedroom and a large bathroom with walk-in shower, this spacious suite provides the perfect space to enjoy a relaxing break in the heart of historic Tombland.
Kindly note, extra tall guests may find the low beams in this room a challenge.
