Our WinePress Restaurant has also reopened and our pretty Inside Out Courtyard is also available for alfresco dining.

Please be advised that due to roadworks on Palace Street there will be a one way system in place from Monday, 24th May to Saturday, 3rd July. Access to the Maids Head car park along Pigg Lane will be via Tombland, however you will be able to exit along Palace Street to the inner ring road on your departure from the Hotel

We are now fully open once again and are loving welcoming our guests back once more, how we have missed you. We can not wait to provide our guests with the warmest of welcomes and to do what we love to do best.

As we fully open out doors the team wish to assure you that we will be following all the Government guidelines and have put into place all the recommended COVID-19 secure measures to provide you with that all important peace of mind.

Stayed for two nights and was really impressed. Our room had been fully cleaned and then sealed until we arrived. Arrived well before check in time but was allowed to leave car in car park while we explored city. All the staff were very friendly, polite, efficient and helpful. Felt very Covid safe. Lovely old building with great character, and the location was perfect for exploring the city’. Jun 10, 2021 

‘This hotel is everything you would expect. We have over the years stayed there many times and have seen loads of improved changes to the building, not that there was anything wrong with the place years ago. I think like all hotels if just left become old and out of date BUT NOT THIS ONE, although keeping its historical style also keeps a touch of modern about it which makes it perfect. A well-picked staff, room people, receptionists, and all the other people work hard to please and so friendly. Our Pre-Arrival letter is sent to all our guests who have booked to stay, advising them of all the measures we have put into place for their peace of mind, this is also available upon request.


Below is a quick walk through of all the good practice we have introduced  to provide our guests with that all important reassurance:

  • In and out routes of the Hotel and managing the flow of guests
  • Automatic entrance doors
  • A thermal imaging camera to check the temperature of all guests and staff
  • Infra red hand sanitisers available at all entrances and throughout the Hotel
  • Meticulous deep cleansing plans in place for ALL areas of the hotel
  • Health and safety champions appointed in each department
  • Branded masks for staff to wear
  • Work place assessments written and available on request for all areas of the hotel
  • Electrostatic cleaning system purchased to deep cleanse all rooms and public areas every day, bedroom doors “sealed” after cleaning
  • Thoughtful social distancing measures throughout the Hotel and WinePress Restaurant
  • Running maps and Norwich maps to be able to go and explore the outdoors
  • Flexible cancellation terms
