The historic Maids Head has successfully reopened
We are delighted to announce that we successfully reopened our doors on Saturday, 4th July. Click here to find a copy of our current risk assessment which is amended as the Government guidelines are amended. Hotel Risk Assessment
We are proud to announce that we have been awarded the We’re Good to Go Industry Standard mark which means that we have followed Government and Industry COVID-19 measures and we have a Risk Assessment in place and processes to maintain cleanliness and aid social distancing. We have also received some lovely feedback from our guests already.
Please ensure before you leave home that you are not travelling from a very high risk, tier three area. The Government advice states “people should avoid staying overnight in another part of the UK if they are a resident in a “very high” area”. If this applies, and you have already made a reservation, please call us to cancel and we will look to welcoming you on another occasion in the future.
We stayed in the Surlingham suite and it was an absolutely beautiful stay. The room was extremely clean and beautifully presented, the free standing bath was incredible, very romantic and gorgeous setting! The staff were so lovely and very attentive. Great location and close to such a variety of pubs/bars and restaurants. Would 100% recommend this hotel! Sept 20
“The room was spotless. And decorated to a very high standard. Excellent location. Sanitisation of the room and communal areas were managed very well. Very comfortable bed. Good breakfast. Very friendly and helpful staff. Would highly recommend if you are staying in Norwich. James July 2020
A second wonderful stay at the Maids Head. Historic building and location make it (for us) the No 1 place to stay in Norwich. Without exception the staff were polite, courteous and helpful, they made us feel special. Also a big thank you to the housekeeping & kitchen /catering staff who are often forgotten – you are so the tops! On checking in we told we had been upgraded which was such a lovely surprise. COVID was properly observed throughout the hotel ..no issues at all. Thank you making our few days in the city memorable. Del October 2020
We send a Pre-Arrival letter to all our guests who have booked to stay advising them of all our measures we have put into place for their peace of mind, this is also available upon request.

Our AA 2 Rosette WinePress Restaurant and Bar are open and we will be able to provide a “knock and drop” service of both breakfast and our casual dining menu should guests prefer to dine in their own rooms, a tray charge will apply. Our historic Yard Bar, which has recently been refurbishment, will become our new Hotel Bar in order to allow for social distancing measures to be maintained. Please note that following the latest Government guidelines and the implementation of the 10.00pm curfew, our Restaurant, Yard Bar and Lounges will close at 10.00pm, however, we will still be able to provide room service. Face Masks are also now mandatory, kindly wear your face covering when entering or exiting, and whilst moving around our hotel. You do not need to wear the face covering at your table.
We have also developed some great new short break packages for you to have something to look forward to. Do get in touch if you would like to make a reservation, call 01603 209955 or email, [email protected]
