Following the latest Government announcement on Wednesday, 23rd December, we will continue to stay open to support all those guests who are permitted to travel for essential purposes. For the comfort of our guests, we will also be providing room service of both full English breakfast along with a hearty supper menu, all delivered safely to your bedroom door. Rest assured we have put into place all the Government’s COVID-19 Secure health and safety measures to ensure the well being of all our guests and staff.  We have also been awarded the Good to Go mark. We are continuously updating our risk assessments as the Government guidelines change.

Relax in the comfort of one of our recently redesigned bedrooms whilst enjoying our warm hospitality and let us take you on a delightful culinary journey with Head Chef, Magic and his 2 AA Rosettes acclaimed Brigade.

23rd December

Arrive and park up at leisure before enjoying a relaxing cream tea of scones and cream served with lashings of  loose leaf tea from Wilkinson’s of Norwich

In the evening we will serve a 4 course culinary delight in our WinePress Restaurant with Head Chef, Magic, semi-finalist in the 2019 National Chef of the Year competition, and his Brigade, preparing a menu where seasonal produce is championed. Dishes will be accompanied by wines especially selected to complement the intense flavours. We source our wines from local Wine Merchant, Peter Graham Wines. Our extensive wine list of over 50 wines includes the award winning wine from Flint Vineyards, Norfolk. Many of our wines are also available to order by the glass.

Christmas Eve – 24th December

Enjoy a relaxing morning or take the opportunity to explore our Fine City and maybe complete some last minute Christmas shopping. Before lunch, there is the option to take the first of two walking tours with Paul Dickson, the Norwich Tour Guide. Norwich is the most complete medieval city in England and he will bring this to life as he takes you on a walk around the Cathedral Quarter found right on our doorstep.

As an optional extra, we will also be offering spins around the City throughout the day in our vintage Bentley, weather permitting.

For lunch our Chef’s will be produce a hot buffet which you can enjoy at leisure. In the afternoon, we invite you to join the Hotel Management and members of the team for a glass of mulled wine and mince pies. The Maids Head’s unique puzzle will be revealed and the 2020 Quiz challenge set. In the evening, the Cawston Silver Band will welcome you as you join fellow guests to take your seats to enjoy our 6 course Taste of Anglia menu. Magic’s Tasting Menu has been inspired by the wealth of ingredients which our Region is so proud of producing. The Maids Head was proud to sponsor the Taste of Anglia Award in the 2020 Norfolk and Suffolk Tourism Awards.

You are then invited to join us as we take a stroll across the road to Norwich Cathedral to attend “The Midnight Eucharist” with carols and lessons. Upon your return, enjoy a warming hot chocolate and stollen cake in the lounge before retiring to bed.

Christmas Day – 25th December

Start your special day with a full English breakfast accompanied by a glass of Buck’s Fizz. After breakfast and presents, there’s a second opportunity to join Paul for a talk and tour of The Maids Head, followed by a CJ Sansom inspired walk around Tombland.

A glass of Champagne awaits you as you join us from noon for our sumptuous Christmas Day luncheon. Chef’s menu will feature the traditional Christmas dishes, along with some twists on the classics. In the afternoon, relax in the comfort of one of the lounges, or take up the puzzle challenge before watching the Queen’s speech accompanied by tea and Christmas cake. Join us for ‘Evensong’ at Norwich Cathedral, to truly embrace Christmas, before finishing the day with our Taste of Norfolk buffet for you to graze upon at leisure.

Boxing Day – 26th December

After breakfast explore more of our Fine City or take a drive out to the coast or the Norfolk Broads.

Return for a buffet lunch, after which there is the option to attend the pantomime of Dick Whittington at the Norwich Theatre Royal.

In the evening, Magic and his Brigade, will present a 5 course Gala Dinner served under the chandeliers in our Minstrel Suite which will be followed by dancing with our Resident DJ, along with the chance to have a flutter on the casino table.

27th December

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before setting off on a safe journey home

Enjoy a 3 night stay – 24th – 27th December from only £465 per person.

Enjoy a 4 night stay – 23rd to 27th December from only £565 per person.

Prices are based on 2 people sharing one of our recently refurbished Classic double rooms, a single supplement of £50 per night will apply. Upgrade to one of our executive rooms or treat yourselves to one of our stylish suites. Pantomime tickets are available from £22.00 per person
