The WinePress is the extremely proud winner of the Taste of England Award. The Award was presented at the 2026 Suffolk and Norfolk Tourism Awards.
Set in the historic courtyard of the hotel where, in the 1780s, the first mail coaches arrived from London, our 2 AA Rosette WinePress Restaurant is one of Norwich’s finest dining establishments. The WinePress offers modern cuisine to today’s discerning diner. Featuring seasonal menus championing the best local produce available.
Diners can choose between our Rosette Menu or Chef’s 6 course Tasting Menu with optional Wine Flight, where wines have been expertly paired with the dishes. Alternatively, choose to dine from our Classics Menu which features popular favourites.
For a special occasion, consider booking our delightful Snug for an intimate lunch or dinner for two to eight guests.

Lunch: 12.00pm – 2.00pm (Classics menu available).
Sunday Lunch: 12.00 – 2.30pm
Afternoon Tea: 12.00 – 4.00pm Monday to Thursday and 2.00pm – 4.00pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday
Lounge Menu: 12.00 – 4.30pm
Dinner: 6:00pm – 8.45pm (Rosette and tasting menu available)
Classics Menu: 12.00 – 9.30pm

Outside Dining at the Maids Head
Nestling in the heart of the hotel, is our pretty courtyard. This delightful spot is covered and sheltered on all sides, with heaters available for when the days turn chilly. Delight in our Classics menu, afternoon tea or just pop in for a coffee, or maybe a cocktail or two.
