The historic Maids Head is making plans to reopen it's doors

Following the Government COVID-19 guidelines, we are sadly having to now keep our doors closed until the 4th July. Rest assured, during this closure we are working hard behind the scenes to ensure that when we do reopen we have put in place lots of good practice to ensure the safety and well being of all our guests and staff.
We will continue to keep you updated as soon as we have some good news to share and please do give us a call on 01603 209955, or alternatively email [email protected] if you wish to make an enquiry.

Maids Head Bar

If you’re looking for a relaxed setting for a lunch or dinner or even just a drink with friends, the Maids Head Bar is a fantastic setting. Located in the Norwich city centre in the UK’s oldest hotel, the bar features wood panelling and beautiful decor.

We offer a full bar menu and a range of beers on tap, wines, spirits and hot drinks. We are the perfect destination for a break during a shopping trip or sightseeing visit to the city, especially given the history of the hotel.

The history of our hotel bar

Originally named the ‘Molde Fish Tavern’, the Jacobean Oak panelled Maids Head Bar has been serving the great and good of Norfolk since the 1200s. Horatio Nelson himself is rumoured to have had his first pint here.
