Celebrating Norfolk Day

Join us in Celebrating Norfolk Day.

Dr Rob Knee presents the remarkable life of England’s greatest lawyer – Sir Edward Coke, the Norfolk man who defied two Kings. Coke attended the Norwich school from 1560-1567. He married a member of the Paston family and also purchased the Music House in King Street from them. Coke’s descendants established the Coke family at Holkham.

Coke was a great champion of the peoples’ rights and his writings have had a great influence in both this country and in America, in particular, his judgement ‘that no man (King or Government) is above the law’.

Enjoy the talk and complimentary refreshments in great company in our historic hotel. This is a free event and any donations made on the day will go to our Charity of the year Age UK Norwich. This event is only bookable on Eventbrite please follow link below to book.
