AA 4 Star Silver Reconfirmed
AA 4 Star Silver Welcome at the Maids Head Hotel
We are delighted to announce that our AA 4 Star Silver has been reconfirmed for another year.
In August we unsuspectingly welcomed the AA Inspector to stay at the Hotel. The AA Hotel Inspector books their accommodation anonymously to stay and dine and therefore the team have no idea they are arriving. They only make their presence known after checking out the following morning. Upon settling their account they request to meet with the General Manager to discuss their findings.
AA 4 Star Silver Reconfirmed
The Inspector visits annually and provides the rating along with a comprehensive report. In the report the Inspector was “delighted to confirm a Four Star classification with an AA Merit score of 87% and a Silver Star Award“. He also complimented the team who were “attentive and professional throughout my time at the hotel”. In addition, he noted “cleanliness remains a strength with very good attention to detail noted throughout all areas; the housekeeping team should be commended for maintaining standards”.
Christine Malcolm, General Manager said “We are so proud of our amazing team, they really are one of our greatest assets. We will be celebrating this report with all of them at our next Vision and Values Staff Awards. The Inspector also provided some constructive feedback and we will be using this in future training sessions“.
2 AA Rosette WinePress Restaurant
As well as confirming the AA 4 Star Silver status, they also dine in the Hotel’s Restaurant. Our Chefs were delighted to learn that they had retained their AA 2 Rosettes for the WinePress Restaurant.
The Inspector dined in the WinePress Restaurant from the a la carte menu and enjoyed
Starter
Heritage tomatoes, watermelon, elderflower, English pecorino, sourdough crumb
Main Course
Pork belly, crispy devil on horseback, turnip, date, puffed pork skin
Dessert
Artisan chocolate and salted caramel tart, salted caramel ice cream.
