The Awards provide an opportunity for the Maids Head family to get together over lunch and to celebrate success. Staff from across all the departments attended the event. It provided an opportunity to thank everyone for their contributions in achieving another highly successful AA Inspection. The team also earned praise for being nominated as finalists in the Food and Drink Experience category at the recent Norfolk Food and Drink Awards.
Food/Drink Experience Finalists in the NFADA
The Awards celebrate Our Guests, Our People and Our Heritage. Staff are nominated for awards by both their peers and by our guests. Awards are based on our Vision and Values and a total of 159 were handed out. Rosie, the WinePress Restaurants Supervisor, received the most nominations of 13 awards. These were for her outstanding customer service and for training and nurturing new members of the team. Staff can “cash” these awards in for prizes. Prizes include anything from a bouquet of flowers from Elizabeths, to an overnight stay at our sister Hotel The Ship at Brancaster.
Employee of the Quarter
In addition, each quarter, staff are asked to nominate a member of the team who has gone above and beyond. This quarter the person with the most nominations was Jordan, our very special Kitchen Porter. He was recognised for his positive, helpful attitude and his enthusiasm to introduce improved working practices. In particular the implementation of the new recycling processes for the kitchen waste. An Amazon voucher for £100 was presented to him by our owner, Mr Chaplin.
Jordan said “I feel very happy that I have been recognised by the team, it really means a lot. I really enjoy my job. It is good to have a voice and to know that you can make a difference”.
