Christmas at the Maids Head Hotel runs from mid-November right through to New Year’s Eve. Whether you are planning a team lunch, a family tea party, a night out with friends or a full festive break, there is something for every kind of celebration.

Festive Lunches and Afternoon Tea in Norwich

From Tuesday 1 to Tuesday 22 December, the hotel serves festive lunches and afternoon tea, ideal for catching up with friends, treating colleagues or gathering the family before Christmas.

Festive Lunch at WinePress

Book a table at WinePress and join others in celebrating the season. Festive lunch is available Monday to Saturday from 1 to 22 December inclusive, at £40 for two courses or £48 for three courses.

Private Festive Lunches

For larger groups, the hotel offers two private rooms. Each is available from 12pm until 4:30pm and includes a three-course festive meal and a private bar, at £48 per person.

Oak Room: for 20 to 50 guests

Minstrel Suite: for 60 to 120 guests.

Please note this room is on the first floor with no lift access.

Festive Afternoon Tea

Festive afternoon tea is £35 per person and is served from 1 to 22 December inclusive.

Monday to Thursday: 12pm until 4pm

Friday, Saturday and Sunday: 2pm until 4pm

Start the season with an evening of festive wines on Friday 13 November, from 7pm to 10pm. Tickets are £55 per person.

Festive Murder Mystery Dinner: Sundays 6 and 13 December

For an evening with a difference, join us for A Handful of Monkeys, our festive murder mystery dinner, on Sunday 6 or Sunday 13 December. Tickets are £60 per person.

Traditional Choir Sunday Lunch: Sundays 13 and 20 December

Gather the family for a traditional Sunday lunch with a festive choir on Sunday 13 or Sunday 20 December, at £55 per person.

Santa’s Tea Party: Sunday 13 December

Santa’s Tea Party takes place on Sunday 13 December from 1pm to 3pm. It is £30 per child and includes a children’s tea party with cake decorating and entertainment, plus a gift from Santa.

Each child’s ticket includes one complimentary adult. Additional adults are £5 per person, and tea or coffee is provided for the adults.

Spend Christmas in Norwich: Festive Stays

If you would rather leave the cooking, hosting and washing-up to someone else, the hotel’s festive residential packages cover Christmas Eve to Boxing day in full.

Three and Four Night Festive Residential 

Four-night stay: from £950 per person

Three-night stay: from £750 per person

Four-night guests start the day with breakfast, and a two-course lunch is also included. Three-night guests join us on 24 December. From there, the programme is the same for everyone:

• 24 December: a six-course taste of England dinner in the evening, with entertainment from jazz duo Francesca and Clifford before and after dinner. Optional Midnight Mass at Norwich Cathedral.
• Christmas Day: breakfast and bucks fizz, then Christmas Day lunch served with Champagne, Tea, coffee and cake followed by the King’s Speech, and the day ends with a buffet feast and quiz.
• Boxing day: breakfast, festive afternoon tea, and a farewell dinner in the evening with entertainment and a casino table.
• 27 December: a final breakfast to set you up for the journey home.

Bentley spins and walking tours can be booked in advance during your stay.

New Year’s Eve in Norwich

See the year out at The Maids Head Hotel with a choice of two celebrations, both running from 7pm until 1am on New Year’s Eve: the Candlelit Dinner Party in WinePress, or the Masquerade Gala Ball in the Minstrel Suite.
