This week the WinePress Restaurant launched their summer menu. It may not feel like summer, but our menu is packed with seasonal flavours. Don’t just take our word for it, follow the link for your taste buds to be tantalised!

Summer Menu Highlights

Starters include a visually stunning dish featuring sea bream ceviche, complemented by avocado and coriander purée, vibrant diced mango, and a delicate squid ink tuile. Alternatively, experience a burst of summer flavours with our colourful heritage tomatoes, paired with refreshing watermelon, fragrant elderflower, English pecorino, and crispy sourdough crumb.

The taste of summer continues with a choice of 5 main courses. These include a succulent lamb rump dish served with Wigmore cheese, Jersey Royals with a pop of colour from fresh peas and broad greens. For vegetarians there is a truffle maple glazed celeriac, with Bulgar wheat, apple, pickled walnut and truffle.

For those with a sweet tooth, the menu will not disappoint. The Maids Head Royal Feuilletine is bound to be a favourite.  Chocolate sponge, hazelnut praline, 70% dark chocolate and caramel mousse complemented by a  chocolate sorbet. No summer menu is complete without a standout strawberry dessert. Pastry Chef, Anthony, presents a show stopping strawberry and vanilla tonka gateau, served with strawberry sorbet and forest berry gel.

The Maids Head cheeseboard will also not disappoint. With a selection of Norfolk and English cheese, homemade chutney, artisan biscuits, grapes and pickled celery.

The kitchen brigade at the Maids Head are passionate about championing local produce and seasonal ingredients in all their menus. Using fresh ingredients, it provides the opportunity to adapt dishes and make recommendations should diners have particular dietary requirements.

Diners can also choose our 5 course tasting menu with optional wine flight.  Wines have been especially selected to complement the flavours of the dishes.

How to book

Our 2 AA Rosette WinePress Restaurant is open for dinner every evening from 6.00pm to 8.45pm. Tables can be booked online or by calling 01603 272010.

Complimentary car parking is offered to guests whilst dining. This makes the Maids Head the perfect spot to dine out in the heart of Norwich.

Daily Lunch Menu

New also for summer is a daily lunch menu, served Monday to Saturday, 12.00 – 3.00pm. This can be enjoyed either in the WinePress Restaurant, or the pretty courtyard found nestling in the heart of the Hotel. Being undercover and sheltered, this makes the perfect al fresco dining space.

In addition to these menus, guests can also choose to dine from the Maids Head Casual Dining Menu. Of course our elegant afternoon tea selection is also available.
